What is the HeelShot trainer?
The HeelShot Roping trainers are motorized roping machines designed to help headers and heelers practice timing, tracking, and rope delivery—without needing a live steer or a full setup.
What products do you offer?
We currently offer: • HeelShot Ultimate Roper – A mobile, remote-controlled roping trainer that simulates live steer movement. • HeelShot Hopper – A stationary trainer ideal for horn accuracy, rope handling, and repetition drills.
Are the machines electric or gas powered?
All HeelShot machines are electric and powered by a 48-volt battery system.
How fast does the Ultimate Roper go?
Top speed is approximately 18 mph, adjustable with the remote so you can slow it down or speed it up based on skill level.
How is the Ultimate Roper controlled?
The Ultimate Roper is fully controlled by a handheld remote. You control: • Speed • Direction • Start/stop There are no pre-programmed patterns—you control the movement in real time.
Will the machine stop on its own if it hits a fence?
No. The machine does not automatically stop for obstacles. The operator is responsible for controlling and stopping the unit.
Can it be programmed to match any arena size?
No. Arena size is not pre-programmed. You simply set your own pattern and spacing manually using the remote based on the arena you're practicing in.
Is this good for beginners?
Yes. Both machines are great for beginners and experienced ropers: • Beginners benefit from repetition and controlled speed • Advanced ropers use it to sharpen timing, consistency, and finishes
Can I use it without a horse?
Yes. • The Hopper is commonly used on the ground • The Ultimate Roper can be used on horseback or for controlled drills depending on your setup
What kind of maintenance is required?
Minimal maintenance: • Keep the unit clean • Charge the battery as recommended • Periodically check bolts, tires, and moving parts
